Women in Anesthesiology
About Us
In 2022 our Department established a workgroup to engage women faculty to aid in the promotion of well-being and strategic planning for workplace accommodations of our female workforce. Founded and led by Drs. Melissa Bellomy, Lyndsey Grover, and Anupama Wadhwa, the WIA seeks to provide a forum for intentional networking, mentorship, and breaking down silos within the department due to physical locations.
This group is funded through the endowed chair of Dr. Charles Whitten, and supported by Vice Chairs Drs. Gloria Cheng and Catherine Barden. The Women in Anesthesiology Group has hosted several lectures and discussions this year ranging in topics from advocacy, negotiation, getting involved at a state and national level, parental policy such as improving the conditions around parenting for all faculty, and personal-branding. Upcoming agenda items include a structured mentoring program, group coaching for women faculty, and development of leadership qualities.
