Ancillary Committees
Ancillary approvals required
Ancillary reviews assist the IRB with matters related to research risk, regulatory requirements, and research compliance. Not all studies require ancillary review. In some studies, ancillary review or submission is required to receive final IRB approval. In others, ancillary approval may be required. If ancillary approval is required, documentation of IRB approval cannot be released until all ancillary reviews are completed and received in the eIRB file.
