Campus Accessibility Services – CAS
Our Committment
UT Southwestern is committed to providing equal opportunities to qualified individuals with disabilities in all areas of UT Southwestern, including without limitation, application, recruitment, promotion, compensation, benefits, training, and education. In accordance with the UT System Board of Regents' Rules and Regulations, UT System policy, applicable federal and state law, and ETH-151 Equal Opportunity, it is policy that UT Southwestern will provide reasonable accommodations that will enable qualified individuals with disabilities to participate in employment, programs, and curriculum, unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on UT Southwestern.
The Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended (ADA) is a comprehensive civil rights law that protects people with disabilities from discrimination in all areas of public life including employment, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the public.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 specifies that institutions must provide appropriate supports and accommodations so that students with disabilities can fully and equally participate in classes, activities, housing and any other aspects of school.
The ADA/504 coordinator and staff support students and employees seeking accommodations while fostering an inclusive environment free from discrimination.
