Department of Surgery Chair Update
We are pleased to announce that Herbert J. Zeh, III, M.D., has been appointed as the next chair of the Department of Surgery. Dr. Zeh is coming to UT Southwestern Medical Center from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his advanced training in surgical oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He has been a practicing surgeon for over 20 years.
Dr. Zeh is the principle investigator of several phase I and II clinical trials in pancreatic cancer, and he directs a translational research lab examining damage-associated molecular pattern molecules in pancreatic cancer settings.
He is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Society of University Surgeons.
Dr. Zeh will officially start in his new role on April 1, 2018.
