Tumor Tissue

The core has extensive expertise of collecting and processing tumor tissue from the clinics or from procedures—often working in conjunction with the Tissue Management Shared Resource (TMSR) at the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. Depending upon investigator needs tissue collection and processing may be required for important molecular assessment, which may include digestion of fresh tissue for culture and sequencing. This may also include extraction of DNA, RNA, and protein for various molecular analyses.

The translational core can assist in processing tissue beyond common approaches depending upon investigator needs. The core can assist in assessing and executing needs that may be required for various clinical studies.
