Important part of biologic assessment of patients may include the collection, processing, and analysis of additional biospecimen that includes, but is not limited to, stool and saliva. Such tissues can be analyzed to assess the microbiome or other molecular profiles.

Depending upon the specific needs and scientific questions the core can help coordinate the procurement and processing of these tissues for additional analyses. This can be the isolation of tissue for next generation sequencing of nucleotides or additional cellular and molecular evaluation.

The core can help with assembling isolation kits, collection, and procurement of samples, and processing some samples.
