UTSW/MDACC Personalized Radiotherapy Symposium

The integration of advanced imaging, automation, and artificial intelligence have markedly streamlined the adaptive workflow and enabled routine adaptive radiation therapy. The UT Southwestern/MD Anderson Cancer Center Personalized Radiotherapy Symposium focuses on the latest developments in personalized radiotherapy, including current clinical implementations and future applications with more powerful AI guidance and imaging technologies. The talks and panels are relevant to the full spectrum of practitioners, including radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, trainees, and other allied health professionals interested in these technologies.

The symposium will include presentations about personalized radiotherapy treatments in a variety of disease sites, key physics and planning topics, practical discussions about team-building and billing, multimodality integration, and conclude with talks on the exciting future of the field.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the clinical evidence of a personalized radiotherapy.
  • Understand the essential steps and expertise required throughout the adaptive therapy process, from simulation to treatment delivery.
  • Identify the training needs and requirements for the healthcare team members involved in adaptive therapy, including radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists.
  • Investigate different staffing models for the healthcare teams implementing adaptive therapy.
  • Understand the collaborative dynamics, communication pathways, and coordination strategies within different team setups.
  • Explore the active research and the future of adaptive therapy with advances in artificial intelligence, imaging, and combination with immunotherapy.
