- Understand the physics and technology aspects related to realization of adaptive and personalized radiation therapy
- Develop ability with planning and quality assurance techniques with some or all of Ethos (CBCT-based), Unity (MRI-based), and Reflexion (PET/CT-based) based adaptive and personalized radiotherapy
- Enhance skills at delivering and quality control of online adaptive radiotherapy
- Strengthen the application of risk management and process improvement
- Pursue novel research opportunities on precision radiation oncology
Patient Care Objectives
- Refine ability to undertake all physics aspects of patient care related to patients receiving adaptive and stereotactic ablative radiotherapy, including physics consultation for initial assessment, coverage of patient CT, MR and PET simulation, design of personalized patient treatment plans based on physician’s intent, safe implementation of radiotherapy treatment, quality assurance for both treatment machines and patient specific plan as well as offering support and consultation for other team members such as dosimetrists and radiotherapy technologists.
- Improve maturity of physics consultations and coverage for personalized adaptive and precision radiotherapy with emphasis on designing and carrying out safe and high quality treatment plan based on physics aspects of imaging guidance, machine characteristics, plan robustness and treatment monitoring.
- Gain proficiency in responding to special requests from physicians, in tackling challenges when applying advanced technology and in advising physicians and other team members on issues related to imaging quality, adaptive and stereotactic treatment, and any possible complications from such treatments.
