Medical Student & Resident Education
The Neonatal–Perinatal Medicine Division provides many educational opportunities for medical students and pediatric residents, as well as a fully accredited fellowship program.
Third-Year Medical Students
During your pediatrics rotation, third-year medical students spend time in the Newborn Nursery at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Information regarding this rotation can be found on the third-year curriculum site.
Fourth-Year Medical Students
Fourth-year residents may elect to spend time in the Newborn Nursery or the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Parkland Memorial Hospital and Children’s Medical Center. Information regarding this elective can be found on the fourth-year curriculum site.
Residents Gain Diverse Experience
The Pediatric Residency Program introduces you to Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine services at Parkland Memorial Hospital and allows elective exposure at Children's throughout the three-year program.
Elective rotations also apply to residents from other programs, including:
- Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Parkland Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
