General Neurology Researchers
Dr. Leston's research focuses on Aerospace neurology. As passengers, we would all like to feel confident in the pilot's ability. Dr. Leston’s interest is in aeromedical risk stratification and mitigation, primarily involving airline pilots.
Dr. Amin is interested in quality improvement, delivery innovation, and healthcare utilization. He engages residents to foster their research growth. He also has an interest in cost-effectiveness research utilizing decision trees and Markov modeling.
Dr. Blair is interested in the neurological benefits of the supplement alphalipoic acid (also known as Lipoic Acid LA) which is useful in neuropathic pain, trigeminal neuralgia, slowing of brain atrophy, diabetic control, and multiple sclerosis. He also has an active interest in using exercise as one of the approaches to treat multiple clinical conditions including headaches, dizziness, back pain, sciatica, carpal tunnel, frozen shoulder, stroke, and Parkinson’s Disease.
Headache Medicine Researchers
Dr. Kiarashi has expertise in treating primary headache disorders. Her research focuses on disparities in healthcare in patients with headache disorders. She established a subspecialty headache medicine clinic at Parkland, which aims to improve access to headache medicine for patients from underserved communities and look for ways to mitigate disparities in care.
Within Headache Medicine, Dr. Masrour has expertise in treating facial pain and related disorders. Her research interests involve exploring novel therapeutics for the treatment of cranial neuralgia, particularly trigeminal neuralgia, and migraine.
