Application Process
The Department of Internal Medicine offers both categorical (three years) and preliminary (one year) residency training programs. Be sure to indicate on your application which program(s) to which you are applying.
We preferentially review applications from those who signal our program. However, in certain situations, we will also consider applicants who do not signal us.

Virtual Interviews and In-Person Visit Dates
When you spend time with our house staff, you’ll find that their energy and enthusiasm are infectious. Indeed, their passion for medicine, for excellence in clinical care, for promoting social justice, and for contributing to the body of scientific research have historically been our greatest selling points as a program.
We will offer virtual interviews this year, twice-weekly from October to January. The half-day events will include live interviews with faculty, informational sessions, virtual tours, and live interactions with our residents. We will be posting several videos of our program, highlighting our facilities, our rotations and the experience of our residents.
We know that everyone is worried whether virtual interviews will give applicants an authentic taste of our various programs. We are working to create interactive experiences that will genuinely convey our programs. We will be offering three in-person visits for you to see our program. They will take place on Fridays on the following dates: December 13, January 10, and February 7. You will have the chance to see our state-of-the-art facilities, meet the house staff and faculty, and tour Dallas. Your presence or absence from these events will have absolutely no bearing on how you are ranked. It will serve solely to allow you to get a better feel for our program. You will receive more details and instructions to RSVP in our interview correspondence to you!" Please check back frequently for updated information.
