Research
Investigations by our researchers have led to a deeper understanding of the causes of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The goal of these studies is to not only understand why they occur but also to help design and test new therapies to improve the lives of our patients.
Research interests of our faculty members can be found on their UT Southwestern faculty profiles.

Clinical Research
Our researchers perform an array of patient-oriented projects to learn the causes of rheumatic and autoimmune diseases. We also participate in a large number of clinical trials, testing therapies for autoimmune and related diseases. Patients and their families are encouraged to learn about and participate in clinical research projects, including trials of experimental therapies for autoimmune diseases.
