The UT Southwestern Medical Toxicology fellowship program accepts two fellows per year through the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We participate in the National Resident Matching Program and applicants must participate as well. Please apply through ERAS to complete the application process. Following a review of the application materials, selected candidates will be invited to participate in the interview process.
Application Process
Fellowship application requirements include completion of the ERAS application and National Matching Program registration.
In addition, applicants must provide:
- United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) scores (Steps 1-3) or COMLEX-USA scores (Levels 1-3)
- Current Curriculum Vitae
- Personal statement
- Recent headshot
- Reference letters (3 minimum, one of which must be from a program director)
- Copy of board certificates (if any)
- Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate (foreign medical graduates only)
- J1 visa (foreign medical graduates only)

NRMP registration opens for candidates and programs - September 17, 2024
Application submission deadline - October 16, 2024
NRMP Rank Order List Certification deadline - October 30, 2024

Once ERAS opens, we will begin inviting applicants to interview on a rolling basis until all our interview slots are filled. - Example interview day schedule (All times are in CST)
8:00 AM: Welcome and Introduction Breakfast
8:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Individual Interviews
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch with Fellows
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Continuation of Individual Interviews
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Tour of the North Texas Poison Center - Please let us know if you will be attending NACCT in 2024
- Interviews will be scheduled through Thalamas
- Interview dates can be rescheduled up to 7 days before your scheduled interview
