The UT Southwestern Medical Education in Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program accepts two fellows per year.

Fellows are permitted to moonlight and must be appointed as Assistant Instructors with the prior approval of the Chair.

Application Process

Fellowship application requirements include completion of the Department application form.

In addition, applicants must provide:

• United States Medical Licensing Examination  (Steps 1-3)
• Current Curriculum Vitae
• Personal statement
• Recent headshot
• Reference letters (3 minimum, one of which must be from a program director)
• Copy of board certificates (if any)
• Medical School certificate
• Medical licenses (if any)

Important Dates

Applications are typically accepted from July through early October. The application timeline for this fellowship is:

• June 2023
  Application submission window opens
• October 2023 through November 2023
  Virtual interviews
• October 15, 2023
  Application submission deadline
• July 1, 2024
  Fellowship begins

Note: If any open position remains available by December, we will continue to accept applications until March 1.
