Bioinformatics Recruitment and Engagement Committee (BREC)

At the Lyda Hill Department of Bioinformatics, we believe that every individual brings unique perspective, complementary talents, and their own strengths that empower our collaborative innovation. Just as each of our cells play unique roles to support whole body function, all individuals contribute specialized knowledge and experience that fuels progressive creativity towards our collective research goals and contributes to a dynamic environment.

BREC was established with two purposes in mind:

  1. (Student) recruitment: committee brainstorms and implements outreach efforts to foster relationships with our local and in-state universities.
  2. Engagement: committee provides oversight and assistance for departmental social events.
