Shoutout to our Facilities team for raising $105 for the SECC! As a thank-you, those who donated get to wear their favorite team jerseys on Fridays throughout the rest of the campaign. So, if you spot building managers, shuttle drivers, or others sporting jerseys in October, be sure to give them a big thanks!

To the UT Southwestern Community:

We invite you to help us make a profound impact on the lives of those in need by participating in the Texas State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC), which is celebrating 30 years of caring.

From now through Oct. 31, UT Southwestern employees can donate to any of several hundred state-vetted charities, including Southwestern Medical Foundation and Moncrief Cancer Institute, through payroll deduction. Donating is easy and convenient, and it can be done entirely within PeopleSoft.

Our goal for this year is $300,000. Even the smallest donation can make a big difference, and if each UTSW employee gave just $14 to their charity of choice, we could help address critical needs in our community and easily reach our goal!

For as little as $2 a month, you can:

  • Provide a child with complete, basic childhood immunization against six diseases
  • Cover the cost of planting 100 tree saplings
  • Provide meals for a homebound senior citizen for two weeks

Additionally, just by participating in the campaign, you could win one of 50 prizes, including FC Dallas and Mavs gear, State Fair of Texas tickets, LED speakers, charcuterie board sets, gift baskets, and more.

Visit the Events Calendar for the schedule of SECC pop-ups happening across campus and at our regional sites, where you can get help with making your donation, enjoy treats, and collect some swag!

For more information, including a list of prizes, please visit the SECC page (on-campus network or VPN connection required) or send an secc-campaign@utsouthwestern.edu.

Together, we can make a lasting difference.

Sincerely,

Helen Yin, Ph.D.
