DUO passcodes no longer supported

UT Southwestern uses a two-factor authentication app called DUO for remote logins to UTSW webmail, VPN, and Office 365.

Effective immediately, we will no longer support the use of passcodes for DUO. Instead, please use the DUO push method. 

To change to the push method, click the appropriate link and follow the screenshot instructions below:


1) Use your UTSW login credentials on this screen:

2) Click "Cancel" on this screen:

3) Select "Send Me a Push" on this screen:

4) Once prompted by DUO on your phone, tap "Approve" on this screen:

Important Notes

  • You might need to change your mobile device settings to allow push notifications from the DUO app.
  • Anytime DUO asks how you would like to be authenticated, select “Send Me a Push.”
  • If you receive a DUO push notification you don't recognize, click "Deny" so that it is properly reported.
