60th Annual Medical Student Research Forum
The UT Southwestern Medical School will host the 60th Annual Medical Student Research Forum on Feb. 1.
Sponsored by Rene Galindo, Ph.D., M.D., Associate Dean for Medical Student Research, the forum will be held virtually from 3–5 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. The oral presentations will feature four UT Southwestern medical students who will present their recognized research projects.
“Our UT Southwestern medical students continue to impress with the quality and extent of their research efforts,” Dr. Galindo said. “The forum is our opportunity to highlight the wide range of excellent clinical and basic research projects performed by our very talented medical students over the past year.”
The students to be featured submitted abstracts in November 2021, and a committee selected the standout projects to be presented from a competitive field of entrants. Student presentations will be followed by a keynote address by Eric Peterson, M.D., M.P.H., Vice Provost and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Research and Professor of Internal Medicine. Following the oral presentations, a poster session will be held from 5–6 p.m., also in Microsoft Teams which will highlight the wide range of clinical and basic research projects performed by UTSW medical students throughout the past year. Featured research will cover topics ranging from perinatal to geriatric disease. The forum will include student presenters from all of the medical subspecialties.
All UT Southwestern faculty, staff, and medical students are invited to attend.
