Working together in our transition to myTime
To UT Southwestern colleagues:
To better serve all UT Southwestern employees, preparations are underway for implementation of a new time management system called myTime. This will replace our existing system, Kronos, which is reaching the end of its life cycle. This major upgrade will significantly reduce the time and energy required to manage self-scheduling, timekeeping, leave, and time-off requests.
In addition to better functionality, this streamlined, paperless process will improve the security and consistency of our payroll system.
I understand that while several departments are excited about the new system, some are more comfortable working within the existing system or continuing with manual processes. This type of major change can be disconcerting, and many valid questions and concerns have been raised. I want to assure that we have heard you, and we will continue to address your concerns and feedback as the launch date approaches.
The myTime team is working diligently to make the training, implementation, and launch as smooth as possible. Job aids, videos, virtual- and instructor-led training, and other support materials are available on the myTime webpage. We are also conducting workshops and town halls in which employees can explore myTime features and learn how myTime positively impacts the way we work.
While I am confident that the myTime system is the best solution for UT Southwestern and will exceed expectations once fully implemented, I am asking for your help. We need everyone to become familiar with the project and how it will impact you and your work. Please visit the myTime webpage and share your questions and concerns by emailing MyTime@UTSouthwestern.edu. Your input will help guide us through this important transition, and we are committed to learning about user needs through open lines of communication.
If you are part of our Superuser or Change Champion groups, we thank you for your time and participation. You are a critical part of the implementation team, and we need your continued participation to make the implementation of the system a success.
Thank you for your patience as we prepare for the launch of myTime, and thank you for what you do every day for this institution and those we serve.
Holly G. Crawford, M.B.A.
Executive Vice President for Business Affairs
Note: Students not employed by UT Southwestern will not be affected by the transition to myTime.
