A letter from the Employee Advisory Council as they reflect, welcome incoming members
The following letter is from the FY22 Employee Advisory Council (EAC).
To our UT Southwestern peers:
As we enter our twelfth year, we want to thank all UTSW employees. You are a major contributor to our continued recognition as the top ranked hospital in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
It truly has been an amazing year for us: We visited and were more engaged at more locations than we had in previous years thanks to the dedicated council members who volunteered their time to make it all happen.
At our monthly meetings, we heard from amazing leaders from around the institution, including Dr. Marc Nivet, Dr. Susan Hernandez, Helen Yin, Travis Gill, Erin Sine, Dr. Christopher McLarty, Russ Pool, Laila Cooper, Charlie Cobb, and Dr. Daniel K. Podolsky. Each speaker listened to our concerns and provided us with insights to the future of the institution.
We give a special thanks to Paul Scott and Amber Perez for their guidance as our Human Resources mentor and advising chair, respectively. Without their help and guidance, we would have not had such a successful year.
We also extend our thanks to Jenny King, Callie Leahy-Wicks, Kathy Murphy, David Nelson, and Amy Stumbris. Their support continues to be vital to our success. Their insight and ability to act as a direct outlet of communication allowed us to be innovative in times of change, but also ensured our voices were heard.
As we enter a new fiscal year, we say goodbye to these EAC representatives:
- District 1 (Administrative Support Services): Detrick Lester
- District 2 (Basic Science): Marsha “Kay” Stewart (January 2023)
- District 3 (Campus Services): Kenneth Gabriel
- District 4 (Clinical): Alexis Coffman, Darrel Loveless
- District 5 (University Hospitals): Kelly Glenn (she will be returning as Advising Chair)
- Amber Perez will be departing from the UTSW council to become UTSW’s representative at the EAC for the University of Texas System, a position being vacated by Ebony Coleman-Glenn.
