Please join UT Southwestern in celebrating Pride Month.

LGBTQ+ Pride Month is celebrated in June to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, which began on June 28, 1969. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. This commemorative month also recognizes the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally. Today, LGBTQ+ Pride Month celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia, concerts, and events attracting millions of participants around the world.

At UTSW, we recognize Pride Month to honor the many contributions that our LGBTQ+ and allied employees have made to our workplace and to our country. The Office of Institutional Equity & Access’ Division of Diversity & Inclusion encourages you to learn, appreciate, and celebrate Pride Month through a range of virtual or in-person events planned in the DFW community and across the nation. Check out our newsletter to see resources compiled for your convenience.

Additionally, in honor of Pride Month, UTSW's LGBT & Allies Business Resource Group (LGBTA-BRG) invites you to secure a Pride flag lanyard (while supplies last). LGBTA-BRG@utsouthwestern.edu your request before they are gone!

If you are interested in joining the LGBT & Allies Business Resource Group, contact the BRG via LGBTA-BRG@utsouthwestern.edu.

Happy Pride Month!
