Calling all brain buffs: Submit your art to the O'Donnell Brain Institute BrainArt Exhibit
The Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute at UT Southwestern is seeking artistic images related to neuroscience and the brain. These images may come from scientific or clinical data (ensuring HIPAA regulations are met), your original art using any medium, or a combination of both. Everyone at UT Southwestern is welcome to submit.
Selected images will be printed by UTSW at approximately 16” x 20” and displayed at public events at UT Southwestern and other venues, and may be displayed (with author credits) online. The 2020 BrainArt exhibit will be shown at the medIDEAS Community Festival at our new UTSW Frisco Medical Office Building on Feb. 8, DSO Soluna Festival’s Music and the Brain at the Moody Performance Hall on April 5, Science in the City at UTSW on May 2, and various other events on campus.
Entries must be:
- File type: .jpg, .png, or .tiff
- Resolution: 300 dpi (may be lower if image is large-scale)
- Limited to two (2) images and one (1) video per person/team
- Not previously published or copyrighted
Please also submit a text file (Word format) with the same file name as the image, including the following information:
- Artist name(s)
- Department affiliation
- Title of piece
- Brief description of what is shown (no more than 100 words)
- Brief description of the method and equipment used
The deadline to submit your entry is Jan. 22. Submit via Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox.
