November is Diabetes Awareness Month
More than 100 million adults and children in the U.S. currently live with diabetes or prediabetes. If not treated effectively, diabetes can lead to health problems such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, nerve damage, and eye problems.
This month, take time to learn about the effects of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and how to prevent or manage diabetes.
10-Minute awareness walk
Exercise is important for those with diabetes and who are at risk for diabetes. It helps manage weight, improves blood sugar levels and heart health.
On Saturday, Nov. 14, take a 10-minute walk in support of diabetes awareness with your family and friends. Remember to practice good social distancing and wear a mask. Put on your coolest blue shirts or crazy blue hat, and post your fun photo to social media with #utswlife.
