Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage Month is Sept. 15-Oct. 15. The celebration honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans. To recognize Hispanic Heritage Month here at UT Southwestern, The Hispanic-Latino Business Resource Group has several events planned:
- Celebration of Contributions: Hispanic/Latino Contributions in Art (Speed Trivia): Wednesday, Sept. 30, 12:30 p.m. This interactive trivia game will celebrate the contributions Latinos have made to the field of art. Prizes will be awarded!
- Understanding Mental Health and Depression: Impacts on Hispanic-Latino Communities with speaker Laila Cooper, Employee Assistance Program: Oct. 1, 5:30 p.m. Join the Hispanic-Latino Business Resource Group for a presentation on depression, mental health, and current trends and issues affecting Hispanic and Latino communities.
- A Fireside Chat With Ruben E. Esquivel: “My Journey to America – Challenges and Opportunities”: Oct. 7, noon
- Celebration of Contributions: Hispanic/Latino Contributions in Music (Speed Trivia): Oct. 15, 12:30 p.m. This interactive trivia game will celebrate the contributions Hispanics have made to the field of music. Prizes will be awarded! Fiesta!
