Medical District Drive lane closures

Beginning Monday, April 13, and for two to three weeks, Medical District Drive traffic will be limited to one lane with only eastbound traffic allowed, and no westbound traffic. Crews will be relocating underground electrical lines.

• Eastbound traffic along Medical District Drive will be allowed between the I-35E service road to Southwestern Medical Avenue and beyond to Harry Hines Boulevard and Maple Avenue.
• Westbound traffic along Medical District Drive will be closed before entering the railroad trestle; however, Southwestern Medical Avenue will still be open.
• Because of Southwestern Medical Avenue’s limited number of lanes, pedestrian crossings, and truck deliveries, most other traffic using westbound Medical District Drive will be encouraged to turn right onto northwestbound Harry Hines Boulevard and then take the Inwood Road westbound exit to I-35E.

Electronic signs will be installed to notify travelers of the lane closures and detour signs will direct drivers appropriately.
