To the UT Southwestern Community:

The 2020-21 Benefits Enrollment period began today and will remain open until Friday, July 31, at midnight. UT Southwestern employees may use this once-a-year opportunity to enroll in the UT CONNECT or UT SELECT medical plans, add dependents, and make changes to their coverage.

What’s new this year?

Please be aware of the following changes that may impact your benefits elections:

  • The UT FLEX Health Care account maximum for 2020-21 has increased to $2,750 from $2,700.
  • The deadline to incur new expenses for 2019-20 UT FLEX Health Care (HCRA) and Dependent Care (DCRA) Reimbursement Accounts has been extended to Dec. 31, 2020. FLEX account claims may now be filed until Jan. 15, 2021.

How do I enroll?

Visit My UT Benefits to enroll in or make changes to your benefits. Be sure to select your campus as “UT Southwestern Medical Center” and log in using your usual username and password (how you log in to your computer). Google Chrome is the preferred browser.

If you are not making any benefits changes or do not need to re-enroll in UT FLEX, no action is needed.

Where can I get help?

A new virtual benefits fair is available through July 31 to help you select the best coverage for your needs. Live virtual sessions with benefits representatives are also scheduled to help answer your questions:

From HR News

To the UT Southwestern Community:

We are pleased to announce that annual enrollment for the 2020-21 benefit year starts Wednesday, July 15, and continues until 11:59 p.m. Friday, July 31.

UT Southwestern employees have access to high-quality health care and benefits through one of two UT System medical plans: UT CONNECT or UT SELECT. If you wish to change your benefits or re-enroll in a UT FLEX flexible spending account, you must make these elections during the enrollment period. If you do not wish to make any benefits changes, or do not need to enroll in UT FLEX, no action is needed.

There are no changes to premium rates for the 2020-21 benefit year. Employee-only coverage will continue to be at no cost to full-time employees who select either medical plan option.

Some exciting new plan features have been added for 2020-21 that may be beneficial to our employees:

  • Increased physical and occupational therapy visits, and private duty nursing benefits (UT SELECT and UT CONNECT members)
  • Free Ovia Health app: Maternity and family support throughout the parenthood journey available at no cost (UT SELECT and UT CONNECT members)
  • Seasons of Life: An outreach program to help members with the passing of a loved one (UT SELECT and UT CONNECT members)*
  • Reduced copay for Texas Health Resources (THR) Urgent Care Facilities (UT CONNECT members only – starting November 2020)

UT Southwestern will host a virtual benefits fair July 15-31 to provide additional information so you can select the best coverage for you and your family.

Help is available:

We understand you may have questions and we encourage you to attend one of three virtual sessions with live representatives to learn more about the health plans and other benefit programs:

If you have further questions, please contact the UTSW Benefits Office at benefits@utsouthwestern.edu or 214-648-9830.
