RESCHEDULED: Medical District Drive to temporarily close

Update 12/10/2019: The closure is back on! Revised timeline below.

As part of the Medical District Drive expansion project, Medical District Drive is scheduled for closure starting 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 through 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16. Electronic signs will notify traffic of the lane closures, and detour signs will guide drivers. Temporary rerouting is expected due to construction; however, since this closure will take place over the weekend hours, we expect disruptions to be minimal.

Northbound Stemmons Freeway (IH-35E) and Northbound Medical District Drive

To avoid traffic congestion on Medical District Drive, continue northbound on Stemmons Freeway service road past the Medical District Drive intersection to the Inwood Road intersection. Turn right onto Inwood Road and proceed north. Please use Southwestern Medical District wayfinding signage for directions to UT Southwestern’s North, South, East, and West campuses. Once inside the desired campus, use internal campus wayfinding signs for guidance to surface/garage parking facilities and building entrances.

Southbound Stemmons Freeway (IH-35E) and Northbound Inwood Road

To avoid traffic congestion on Medical District Drive, heading southbound on Stemmons Freeway take the Inwood Road exit and proceed on service road to Inwood Road intersection. Turn left onto Inwood Road and proceed north. Please use Southwestern Medical District wayfinding signage for directions to UT Southwestern’s North, South, East, and West campuses. Once inside the desired campus, use internal campus wayfinding signs for guidance to surface/garage parking facilities and building entrances.
