Coming soon: Additional protections to your data affecting external access to PeopleSoft ESS
The UTSW Information Security team will soon introduce additional security measures to better protect your personal information and foil pesky identity thieves by enhancing access protection of UT Southwestern employees’ data in PeopleSoft.
Starting Nov. 25, access to Employee Self Service (ESS) data will be restricted to when you’re physically on campus, or when connected remotely through Citrix or via UTSW’s virtual private network (VPN). This change will affect the following six services in PeopleSoft:
- W-4 tax information
- Paychecks
- Compensation history
- W-2/W-2c consent
- View W1-W2c form
- Paycheck modeler
When attempting to access these services from the Internet directly, outside of the UTSW network, you will see the message: “This information is restricted outside of the UTSW network. If possible, use VPN or retry access once physically on campus. For additional assistance or questions please contact the IR Service Desk at 214-648-7600.”
