New UTSW ads launch, telling the story of ‘Your Good Health’

Maybe you’ve noticed something different. It’s that new commercial in between Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show bits, or that new billboard on your way to work.

These eye-catching ads are the newest chapter in the story of UT Southwestern Medical Center.

If you’ve worked here for even a little while, you know the recent highlights of that story: impressive growth as we continue to expand in the Southwestern Medical District and across North Texas; forward-thinking technology; excellent clinical care, research, and education; and a staff and faculty that are among the best and brightest.

All these elements can result in notable recognitions, such as being ranked the No. 1 hospital in North Texas by U.S. News & World Report in 2017.

But in the end, what does the culmination of all this look like? What does it feel like? The new ads attempt to paint the picture of what goes on behind these walls.

The idea of the new marketing brand campaign is to tie our people, technology, and work to our overriding purpose, which is to put the patient front and center, to serve “Your Good Health.”

The new brand aims to illustrate what hope, healing, and discovery not only look like, but what they feel like.

Take for instance the ad featuring a photo of Dr. James Brugarolas with Nobel Laureate Dr. Bruce Beutler. The two UT Southwestern doctors are working together to activate the immune system and maximize the body’s ability to fight kidney cancer. The tagline under that photo is “This is what HOPE LOOKS like.”

That image is paired with a photo of Larry Carlson – a UT Southwestern patient – and his granddaughter. The doctors’ innovative approach resulted in the foundation of a revolutionary clinical trial at UT Southwestern. Because of it, Mr. Carson now has a chance to spend more birthday parties with his grandchildren. In other words: “This is what HOPE FEELS like.”

This campaign uses real stories, real doctors, and real patients who have been restored to health – making it clear that there truly are amazing things going on behind our walls. Stories of hope, of healing, and discovery.

The commercial below says it best:

“The future belongs to those who don’t wait. Who won’t settle. Who never rest. That is how it’s been for 75 years at UT Southwestern. Talented, dedicated individuals blazing a trail of discovery. Educating the next generation of caregivers. Delivering an extraordinary level of care. For one purpose: Your good health.”
