"Swim with the Sharks!" A Team Science pilot grant competition
The UT Southwestern Center for Translational Medicine (CTM) invites you to participate in the CTM Translational Pilot Program’s Team Science competition during Research Week. One grant of up to $25,000 in direct costs will be awarded. Funding should be used to collect preliminary data for extramural grant submissions.
The primary purposes of this funding opportunity are to promote and support the development of new translational research ideas by multidisciplinary teams of independent investigators and encourage new multidisciplinary team collaborations. The CTM will track the progress of the pilot award recipients to gauge success in obtaining extramural funding in team science.
Multidisciplinary teams must submit a one-page letter of intent, a specific aims page, and biosketches to the CTM by Sept. 17. Five semifinalist teams will be chosen from the applicant pool to present their proposal to a panel of expert “sharks” and a live audience at the CTM Research Week "Swim with the Sharks!" event on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at NG3.112 (North Campus).
At the conclusion of Research Week, two team finalists will be announced and invited to submit a full application that will be due Friday, Jan. 11, 2019. Email questions to ctmtranslationalpilotprogram@utsouthwestern.edu.
