Updated UTSW Style Guide Now Online
Just as UT Southwestern is proud of its reputation for groundbreaking research, outstanding education and training, and state-of-the-art patient care, we are committed to the highest standards of quality in all materials produced for internal communication and external presentation of ourselves to the public.
To that end, we are beginning the new year with an updated version of the UTSW Style Guide, which is now available online.
It has been revised to reflect changes at UTSW and our affiliated institutions and to incorporate adjustments in commonly accepted wording, punctuation, and grammar. Regarding style issues not addressed in the guide, we typically defer to Associated Press style. For questions about style, email styleguide@utsouthwestern.edu.
In addition to the Style Guide, the following resources provide guidelines that will help achieve consistency throughout UT Southwestern and project an image of professionalism. These documents are authoritative reference points for all internal and external communications.
Policies: How and when to use the UTSW name, logomark, logotype, and seal, graphic standards, and publications.
Sources of Truth: Includes accreditation agencies, official names of UTSW buildings and departments, endowed academic positions by holder and by title, as well as organizational charts.
Because the Style Guide, Policies, and Sources of Truth are updated as changes occur, it is important to consult them before using the information they contain. We appreciate your support of institutional quality standards.
