Project Reboot: What's happening next
Earlier this year, the UT Southwestern campus community was introduced to Project Reboot, a PeopleSoft reimplementation and transformation of how business processes related to human resources, student services, accounting, and finance are managed. But work on Project Reboot started a long time before then – since March 2017, almost 400 key planners have participated in more than 1,680 meetings.
With the design and build phases complete, testing has begun. Robust testing ensures functionality of the new systems before launching this September. In the coming months, approximately 365 users will test almost 8,000 scenarios to ensure PeopleSoft is ready to go live. Key business processes will be tested with upgrades or new functionality. The team will simulate the production environment as closely as possible and evaluate user acceptance of the new system.
This may seem like a lot of behind-the-scenes work, but now is the time to learn how this will affect you in September. Here are the ways you can get educated.
- Visit the Project Reboot page on My UTSW for guiding principles, timelines, assessments, key contacts, and more.
- Attend a town hall meeting. From now until August, the Project Reboot team will host several meetings covering different topics surrounding the changes in PeopleSoft 9.2 that will impact your daily, weekly, and monthly business processes. There will be two meetings per month, one on North Campus and one on South Campus, and meetings will last an hour with 20 minutes allotted for questions. Managers should have received an invitation for the March town halls, which filled up quickly. The meetings are open to everyone, but space is limited; ask your manager for details. If a town hall meeting is full, it will be live-streamed. Recordings will be made available on the Project Reboot website. For future meetings, register in Taleo Learn.
- A full suite of training covering Employee Self Service, Manager Self Service, payroll, travel and expenses, and more is coming. Keep watch for announcements to come.
- If you’ve perused the website and still have questions or suggestions, submit them via the survey. Allow up to three business days for a response.
