Promoting and sharing UT Southwestern events is now easier than ever
With the launch of Localist – a new calendaring tool – UT Southwestern users can now subscribe to event listings, easily invite colleagues to events, and add events to Outlook, Google, or iOS calendars without copying and pasting.
View the calendar at events.utsouthwestern.edu. Easily access the calendar from the MyUTSW homepage by clicking the Events Calendar icon on the top right.
The project, a collaborative effort between Business Affairs, Information Resources, and Communications, is another part of a multiphased project to enhance our digital platforms and better connect the UT Southwestern community. A calendar advisory committee that comprises leaders from across campus continues to provide guidance and oversee the project.
With the launch of Localist, UT Southwestern community members can:
- Submit events within the tool for inclusion on the calendar
- Search the calendar by date, event category, or organization, and view events by day, week, month, or year
- Share events with friends
- Add events to your Outlook, Google, or iOS calendars
- Subscribe to receive email or text notifications of events by category
- Create event feeds that can be displayed on UT Southwestern websites
Soon, the Campus Update newsletter will link directly to Localist events, allowing readers to add events to their calendars easily. The calendar will ultimately replace the printed Grand Rounds calendar produced by Communications, Marketing, and Public Affairs.
