Notice of Practices

All samples processed by the McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab are for research purposes only. The samples should not be used to plan the health care of subjects or influence medical decisions.

The McDermott Center Human Genetics Core lab is committed to respecting the privacy of subjects and protecting the confidentiality of all subject information. We abide by the UT Southwestern Privacy and Security Policy.

Permission to Use the McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab Website

The services listed on this website are provided to authorized users only. Authorized users are defined as investigators within the UT Southwestern Medical Center or individuals working directly under their direction. All other users must be approved by the McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab to use the website prior to ordering any service.

Each user will have a unique username and password to access the McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab website. These unique codes must be kept confidential. The McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab gives each user the permission to use this website and our services, subject to the conditions and limitations set forth in these terms.

Each user is responsible for providing accurate and relevant information when setting up a user account or submitting an order. In the event that the information changes, it is the responsibility of the user to update such information or contact us as soon as possible.

Termination of Access

The McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab may terminate a user’s access to the website at any time if there is a breach in these terms. In addition, the McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab may inactivate a user’s access to the website if there a period of inactivity in excess of 12 months.

The McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab will make every effort to process samples in an accurate and timely manner. However, instrument failure, handling error, or unforeseen situations beyond the control of the McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab may cause the occasional loss of samples. Should this occur, the McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab will make every effort to contact the user as soon as possible. In addition, the McDermott Center Human Genetics Core Lab website may not be available at all times due to system failures, back-up procedures, scheduled maintenance, or other unforeseen situations.
