Update on TEM Availability & Scheduling Challenges

We currently have only one TEM running, and we sincerely apologize for the ongoing difficulties in securing time on the scope. We understand your frustration—many users are facing the same issue. As a reminder, the PPMS calendar opens at 12:00 AM and, according to users, is fully booked within minutes, making it extremely challenging to secure a slot.

Please note that EMCF cannot book time on the scope for individual users. To ensure fairness, scheduling remains on a first-come, first-served basis. If we were to make exceptions for one person, we would have to do so for everyone.

We can only prioritize scheduling in cases where a manuscript requires a response to reviewer comments. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenges. The good news is that we hope to have our second TEM (Tecnai) operational again by late April or early May, which should help alleviate the scheduling constraints.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Getting Started

The EMCF uses PPMS for project management and equipment scheduling.

  1. Please be sure to carefully read the EMCF policies.

  2. Read our FAQs.

  3. Schedule a meeting to discuss your project (Please select EMCore).

  4. You will receive an email with the Teams meeting link automatically.

Samples submitted from Monday to Wednesday will be processed within the same week. Samples submitted after Wednesday will be processed in the following week.
