Evidence of UT Southwestern’s commitment to excellence came last summer with its ranking by U.S. News & World Report as the No. 1 hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth, second in Texas, and among the top 50 programs nationally in six clinical areas – in recognition of the care provided at both William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital and Zale Lipshy University Hospital.

The six specialties in which U.S. News ranked UT Southwestern nationally are Urology, Geriatrics, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Nephrology, and Ear, Nose & Throat. In addition, the publication ranked UTSW high-performing in the areas of cancer, gastroenterology and GI surgery, orthopedics, and pulmonology, as well as in the treatment areas of heart failure, colon cancer surgery, lung cancer surgery, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
