Leadership Foundations
The Leadership Foundations Program is required for eligible non-faculty people managers with supervisory responsibility (up to and including Assistant Vice Presidents).
- Builds leadership and management competencies among new and existing leaders
- Delivered in three all-day sessions across three consecutive months
- Cohort-based with peers who will examine the distinctive characteristics and skills leaders must develop and model to succeed within UT Southwestern
- Developed in partnership with UT Southwestern executive leaders
- Leaders are assigned training in Taleo as a part of their My Required Training.

To build engagement by encouraging sharing and enhancing leadership potential throughout the institution.
Prerequisites
- Complete DISC prior to signing up for Leadership Foundations in Taleo.
- Complete New Leader Onboarding (for leaders who started in their role on June 1, 2025 or later)
Note: New Leader Onboarding is encouraged but not required for leaders who started in their role prior to June 1, 2025. You will not see Leadership Foundations in your My Required Training plan until your prerequisites are met.
