Practice good laptop security

Mobile devices and laptops are susceptible to theft and loss. The greatest risk to laptop security is typically leaving a computer in an unattended location such as an airport, hotel, restaurant, or inside a vehicle.

  • Use OneDrive and Teams storage to access data when you’re on the go.
  • Don’t store data directly on the laptop’s hard drive (C:).
  • Keep your devices out of sight; don’t leave them unattended or visible in your car. Lock up your laptop when it will be out of your possession.
  • Report a lost or stolen laptop immediately.
  • See Laptop Security for more information.
