When is the last time you Googled yourself?

Search the internet to see what information about you is publicly available. These same resources are available to cybercriminals who can use what they find to target you.

  • Search using InPrivate or Incognito mode to see the results a random person would find.
  • Check out Have I Been Pwned to see if your account has been involved in a data breach.
  • Open a browser search box and start by typing your name in quotes. Add more information such as your email address, the town you live in, or your phone number.
  • Consider what you share publicly by verifying your social media account security and privacy settings.  Deactivate online accounts you no longer use.
  • Don’t assume an email, call, or text is legitimate because it contains some accurate facts about you.
