Did you get hooked?
On January 18, a realistic-looking phishing email was sent to employees and staff for the purpose of strengthening UTSW security awareness and response.
Did you catch the red flags? (1) Service Desk is not referred to as “It DEPT;” (2) Sender’s email address is not from a utsouthwestern.edu account; (3) Subject line creates a sense of urgency; (4) Supposed internal email contains External Mail tag and banner; (5) Hovering over the link shows it is not related to the content of the email; (6) Institution name is incorrect and not capitalized.
