Annual Benefits Enrollment
Updates for 2024–2025
Medical
- Employee-only UT SELECT medical coverage will remain at no cost for benefits-eligible employees who work at least 30 hours a week and select the medical plan option.
- UT SELECT medical plan premiums will increase for dependent coverage.
- New waiver option for medical coverage for employees enrolled in TRICARE (without VA coverage) or an outside Medicare plan. Employees may now use this coverage to waive UT SELECT/UT CARE coverage. Simply upload proof of other coverage to My UT Benefits during Annual Benefits Enrollment.
Dental
- Dental HMO premiums will decrease slightly.
Disability
- Short-term and Long-term Disability Insurance: No Evidence of Insurability (EOI) or medical exam needed this year during Annual Benefits Enrollment, which makes coverage qualification even easier!
FSA (Flexible Spending Account)
- UT FLEX FSA has a new plan administrator, Inspira (which acquired Marpai, previously Maestro).
- The My UT FLEX website and phone number (844-887-3539) will remain the same, and new debit cards will be sent to all 2024-2025 enrollees.
- The annual FSA maximum contribution increased to $3,200 for plan year 2024-2025.
- The annual maximum contribution for the Dependent Care Reimbursement Account is $5,000 per household.
Life
- Voluntary life insurance will allow a husband and wife (both employed or retired by a UT System organization) to list each other as a dependent. EOI and other conditions will apply.
Health & Wellness
- Progyny member cost will include a $1,000 annual deductible plus 20% coinsurance for included fertility services up to a $10,000 annual out-of-pocket maximum.
- Health and Wellness Enhancements will no longer include benefits for Teladoc (formerly Livongo), Omada, or Catapult services, but Hinge Health and Wondr Health will remain.
Important Reminders
- Keep your current ID cards for plans that did not change.
- New ID cards (for new plans only) will be mailed to your home address.
- Review your beneficiaries.
- Remember that July 31 is the deadline for completing follow-up tasks (e.g., uploading supporting documents, completing EOI, etc.).
- This is a good time to make changes to your voluntary retirement plans.
Want to keep the same benefits for next year?
No action is required, unless you have a FSA (Flexible Spending Account). If you have a UT FLEX account, you must reenroll every year.
Want to review or change your benefits for next year?
Visit My UT Benefits, select The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and follow the prompts.
Note: Even if you don’t want to make any changes, it is still recommended that you take a few minutes to review your current coverage and list of dependents (if applicable) for accuracy.
