The Office of Faculty Wellness is here to support you as you adjust to your life as a faculty member and parent.
Becoming a parent is exciting and rewarding; however, it can shift your daily wellness in unexpected ways as you cope with mixed emotions and try not to lose yourself in the process. Learning how to balance the personal responsibilities of parenthood with your professional responsibilities can be challenging and the transition back to work can be difficult. From explaining available benefits and parental policies to helping you prioritize your multiple responsibilities, we are here to help!

Working Parent Support Program
Jaime Harry, LCSW, head of Faculty Counseling and Wellness Support Services, will support you in managing your personal and professional responsibilities. She will highlight that you are not alone and will assist you in maintaining or developing the solid connections you need as a new working parent. She will meet with you to help you find your way as you balance your professional and personal goals.

Is information shared in parenting support sessions confidential?
All support sessions will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone. If there are concerns for your safety or the safety of others or if you share information about sexual misconduct that requires reporting under Title IX, these will first be discussed with you then be reported as required by university policy. Pre and post survey data will be kept de-identified for program evaluation assessment and to study the effects of parenting support on faculty well-being.
