Understanding the EPA Process
- What does EPA stand for?
Enstrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) are units of professional practice that clinician educators routinely encounter in their roles. Each EPA is mapped to specific competency domains essential to the development of proficient educators.
- How does the EPA process works in the IMPACT program?
Identification:Identify EPAs relevant to your current roles and responsibilities.
Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs): Collaborate with mentor coaches to create ILPs that outline the steps needed to complete an EPA. Submitted EPAs take various forms: papers, slide decks, video presentations, grant applications, etc.
Credit Accumulation: Earn program competency “credits” for each EPA you complete successfully. Graduation from the program requires earning at least one of these credits in each competency domain and a total of 15 credits.
