Eligibility & Application Process
Minimum Eligibility
- A master’s degree or higher from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant program.
- Current Board certification and Texas license (or evidence of eligibility).
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse must ensure their education, certification, and licensure match the patient population they will serve during the fellowship.
- Life support certification relevant to the candidate's specialty and practice setting.
- Specific additional criteria may be detailed in each job description.
Application Process
All available APP fellowship positions are listed on the UTSW Careers Website - Advanced Practice Providers - UT Southwestern. Each job posting includes detailed information regarding eligibility criteria, necessary application attachments, and key dates. Adhering to the application deadlines is essential; deadlines are specified in each job listing and should be closely monitored to ensure all required materials are submitted on time.
Candidates must apply through the UTSW Careers page. Only complete applications, which include all supporting documents, will be taken into consideration.
Supporting Documents
Personal Statement
Applicants must draft a compelling personal statement that outlines their interest in the specialty and the specific training program. This statement is a critical piece, as it provides insight into the applicant's motivation and commitment.
Recommendation Letters
Obtaining strong letters of recommendation is vital. These letters should ideally come from individuals who can attest to the applicant's qualifications, character, and suitability for the fellowship.
Academic Records
