Who We Are

The John and Felecia Cain Center for Bladder Health, within UT Southwestern Medical Center's Department of Urology, is staffed by one of the nation's largest Urogynecology Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) divisions, with four URPS specialized surgeons and a URPS-trained nurse practitioner.

Due to the multidisciplinary nature of bladder disorders, we collaborate with UT Southwestern experts in General Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Infectious Disease, Geriatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Gynecology, Colorectal Surgery, and Imaging – to name a few – who assist in providing optimal care to our patients with bladder disorders.

Director

For the last three decades, Dr. Philippe Zimmern's medical mission has been to care for bladder patients. His compassion has driven him to help train 17 highly specialized fellows, develop clinical trials, publish over 400 manuscripts, and participate in National Institute of Health (NIH) grants, many of which he collaborated locally, nationally, and internationally.

He also received the UT Southwestern leadership in excellence award for patient and family recognition in 2019. It is because of his dedication and result-driven mindset that he was chosen by Dr. Daniel Podolsky, President of UT Southwestern, to be the Director of The John and Felecia Cain Center for Bladder Health.
