Professional Development Series
The Faculty Development Series has closed its inaugural year with a presentation on negotiation and conflict management from Ronald L. Blumoff, M.D., adjunct professor of healthcare management at UT Dallas. The department also cohosted a special workshop with the Faculty Diversity and Development Office on hiring diverse faculty candidates. The workshop was given by two representatives of the STRIDE committee. STRIDE, or Strategies and Tactics for Recruiting to Improve Diversity and Excellence, is a resource that offers faculty recruitment workshops for faculty members who play an important role in recruitment efforts.
The Faculty Development Series planning committee is currently building content for the next iteration of its professional development program, which will begin at the start of the fiscal year in September 2019.
