Residents Ibrahim Nassour, M.D., and Erika Bisgaard, M.D., took first place in the “So You Think You Can Operate?” competition.

On October 21, general surgery residents from seven schools gathered at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center for the “So You Think You Can Operate?” competition hosted by the Resident and Associate Society of the American College of Surgeons.

The teams competed in skills challenges designed to test the residents on their speed, accuracy, and knowledge of surgical techniques. The competition was fierce, not to mention there was a good deal of pride on the line for our education director and the associate directors, but the UT Southwestern general surgery team emerged triumphant.
