Watson Award Keynote Speaker
December 6 marks the date of the 2018 Patricia and William L. Watson Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine presentation and lecture.
This year’s guest speaker will be Dr. Julie Freischlag, CEO of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and Dean of the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Her talk is titled “Inclusion at All Levels."
The Watson award recognizes a UT Southwestern clinician whose work exemplifies a commitment to outstanding patient care and advancement of clinical innovations. Last year’s recipient was John Mansour, M.D.
The event is at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, in D1.600 on the south campus, with a reception to follow.
Dr. Freischlag will also host a breakfast for female surgery residents the morning of December 7 at Clements University Hospital, where she will discuss mentorship in surgery.
