Shelby Holt, M.D.

The Department of Surgery has split the division of GI/endocrine surgery into the division of endocrine surgery and the division of colorectal surgery. Bariatric surgery has been incorporated into the division of general and acute care surgery.

The Department of Surgery now includes a total of eight divisions: endocrine surgery, colorectal surgery, general and acute care surgery, surgical transplantation, surgical oncology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, pediatric surgery, and vascular surgery.

Shelby Holt, M.D., is the chief of the division of endocrine surgery, making her the second female division chief in the history of the department, and Craig Olson, M.D., is serving as the interim colorectal division chief.
