About Us
Dear 3rd and 4th Year Medical Students,
The UTSW Launch Program was started in July 2020 to help medical students pursuing careers in surgery navigate the complexities of the application season.
The program offers personalized mentorship and guidance for medical students interested in a career in surgery. Through this program, medical students receive one-on-one mentorship and support navigating the complexities of the application for general surgery residency. This is a great opportunity to start seeking mentorship for your residency applications.
Additionally, our program will help students with sub-internship placement and in identifying optimal clerkship rotations. The goal of the program is to offer applicants the tools necessary to create a competitive application portfolio.
Students taking part in the program will
- Receive review/editing of CVs
- Receive review/editing of personal statements
- Meet or check-in with Launch Program mentors regularly
- Participate in mock interviews
If you are interested in participating in this program or seek additional information, please contact us via LaunchProgram@UTSouthwestern.edu.
